I picked a new baby today, a made in 1988, Marlin 336 in 30/30.
The weather is crappy so I can't go out and shoot it.

Nice !
And Jerry , you know the Ranch Dog will have 311-165 moulds available here very soon ! In both 2 and 6 cavity versions I believe .
I've been using this bullet in a couple Marlin's for lever silhouette with pretty good results .
I've shot it in three rifles in actual competition . One was and old 1950's ballard rifled gun , then a early 70's micro barrel and lastley my 336CB which is also ballard rifled . And to make a long story short , they shot great in all three rifles !

Besides the Ranch Dog 311-165 , you might consider the;
RCBS 30-150 ,
RCBS 30-180 ,
Lyman 311041 ,
Lyman 311440 ,
Saeco 30-150 ,
Lyman 311041HP
and last but not least 357 MAX here on castboolits had a group buy last year for a 30-150GC mould that is a great bullet as well .
I own moulds for all these and have tried them all . And I gotta say amazingly they all did okay for me .
I almost forgot the Lee 30-150 and 30-170 also work fine in my 30-30's . Sometimes I forget about the standerd Lee moulds and I gotta say that is not fair to them [smilie=1:

I have already asked RD for a 30 cal mold when he gets them in. Need to go and clean the new rifle again. [smilie=1:
