Weird, There nothing about cost i will bet it would be high. 455 brass is hard to find or make your own. With modern steel a better choice would be 45 acp.

I just might go for this; it would be very cool to have a brand new Webley .455 revolver.

Loved the computer graphics on their site.

It would be interesting to compare one with an original. Better steel and probably closer tolerances with the new one I would imagine.

Be nice if they'd add a "deposit counter" to their website - showing the number of deposits they've already received. As the number climbs close to the threshold it might entice folks like me to send in a deposit...whereas I don't care to send in money if this idea isn't going anywhere (even if it IS "refundable" - whatever that actually means).

Very Cool!! I wonder if the poor serfs whose ancestors financed and fought in the many wars of empire will be allowed to own one?

Yeah. . .an approximate price would have been considerate. Do they want a deposit on a Camry or a Ferrari?

Negative on the .45 ACP. I've got both an unaltered original and an ACP-converted one. I went through a phase where I thought moon clips were a neat idea - now I just consider them and their specialized loading and unloading tools a royal PITA.

Given our current understanding of wound ballistics, I could see a resurgence of interest in both the .455 and the .38/200 concepts if WFN's were used. Once you accept that you don't NEED a flat trajectory for a PD arm and realize there's no appreciable recoil to either of them, you realize there's good potential at hand. Shorter overall frame lengths in the .38/200. . .Yep. Good stuff - though there might be an argument in favor of .38 Short Colt over .38 S&W due to the more "standard" .38 Special/.357 mag case head and bullet diameter.

I agree with you but I don't see it happening until people stop believing that effective ammo has to cost $1.50 a shot.
