Grafs has it for $18 or so. Looking it up i see a few of the types load the same thing. Anyone use Vectan and have an insight as to which would be best for general pistol use in 38/357/45acp/45lc?

Im getting primers so hazmat is already being paid and the price is good

I ordered some after looking through the reloading guide Grafs has provided. http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/product/productId/11585 . I ordered Ba10 and Ba9 for 38 and mild 357 since they look similar in speed to Bullseye and Unique. I also ordered some A0 since it is one of the cheaper ones and similar to Herco. I wish I had jumped on it sooner to try some Ba 6 1/2. I have not received it yet and would be interested in anyone's experiences with A0.

I read a review of A0 from someone in England or Scotland and they were very unhappy with it. 357 had many sticky cases and pressure spikes and they were not going to order any more of it so I don't think I'm going to try that one

I believe it was In 44mag and 223, not 357 mag. IMHO AO is to fast for heavy 44 mag loads,

The thread is only 12 below this very thread same page.

I've used AO, TU3000 and SP7. Mainly because it was considerably cheaper than other brands.

The AO I use in .44 magnum, but I have used it in .223. I wouldn't recommend it however! It is a good clean powder that goes through a measure well but it appears to be VERY sensive to pressure. As in working up a load quite normally and then going way over pressure at far below the expected max load. In .44 magnum .2 of a grain goes from an easy going load to one where I am having to hammer the cases out! In the .223 I got to around 1500 fps and cases barely obturating to a point of case head being extruded in to the ejector hole in the bolt face in just 0.1 grain increase! In both cases I repeated the load development as I couldn't such a small change would make such a huge difference, but it was a fact.

I still use AO, but only in .44 magnum and only one load as I bought several kilos and it has served me well. But I wont try it in anything else and when I run out I wont be busting a gut to find more.

Thanks. I forgot where i saw that. I have a link to vectans site which is a very good one. I was hoping for real loading results not numbers from a site

I guess I may have to be the guinea pig here, if I ever get a shipping notice from Grafs. It gives me a reason to see how the Magnetospeed functions on a revolver, and check it against some of my known good loads.

Here is a bit more Vectan data from a German powder supplier site:
Handgun: http://www.lhs-germany.de/service/ladedaten-download/vectan-fuer-kurzwaffen/
Rifle: http://www.lhs-germany.de/service/ladedaten-download/vectan-fuer-langwaffen/

I believe it is from Vectan's ~2007 reloading guide.
