Stumbling around through some old Lyman Reloading Handbooks (43d) and the Lyman 4th Ed Cast Bullet Handbook, I noticed a strange relationship.

MOST of the Unique loads are just a little over half the size of the 2400 loads. There are differences due to the chamber and how far out the bullet may be seated (affects case capacity).

SR-7625, SR-4756, and SR-4759 seem to have a relation as well, but I'm not a statician.

For the mathochistic, look for the relationship between bullet weight, bore size, and pressure. The truth is out there....

I'd noticed this also. Blue Dot runs somewhere around 80% of 2400 loads; with nearly the same velocity being obtained.
