Hi,

I soon will be casting for my 45-70 TD a 405 HB boolit with soft lead to overcome the keyholing I have had with a commercial bullet. I will be using for powder either Accurate 5744 or SR4759 at about 1100-1200 fps. After reading all the different boolit lubes I have set aside bees wax, paraffin, johnsons paste wax and lee liquid alox. Since this will be a small run to test my new mold so I will be dip lubing. I will then later pan lubing once I have found an accurate cast bullet. I considering Harlow's pan lube but I have not I found not reference to its use as a dip lube. Any lube recipe suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks again,

50/50 beeswax and petroleum jelly. I measure by weight in this case.
adjust proportions to make it softer or harder. Melt the wax slowly, then add the pj, and stir to mix.
When it cools, it is just soft enough to spread with your fingers.
Some use 50/50 beeswax and olive oil to good effect too.

My favorite lube recipe is to send an email to Glenn at White Label Lubes and have him make it for me. LOL! I've got all the stuff to make lube and there is sits on the shelf behind a big box of White Label products (they're cheaper than anything you can get at Midway).
I just started buying lube from them in Acme brick sized chunks.
