View Full Version : Is Trail Boss a "reformulated PB"?

Similar shape, the doughnut.

Fluffy.

Maybe not a lot different in burn rate.

Just a thought. I'll try to get some real load comparison done this summer.

If anyone has already done so, please let me know either by posting here or PM.

PB is on the list of "discontinued powders". Too bad. It has long been overlooked for handgun cartridges. Those shotgunners have been quietly using it for decades. Sneaky bunch. Me included.

I don't know about PB, though it is similar. But it sure does look and act like the old DuPont bulk smokeless from the 1890's.

Trail Boss is significantly faster than PB.

Ed Harris once commented that TB is the propellant used in the 40mm grenade cartridge.
