has anyone tried cast bullets out of a 338 win mag I have a old 338 Winchester m70 that I do not hunt with any more

I had very good luck with cast in a Savage Hog Hunter.

Well of course bigger is better, but quite a few folk use the 30 calibers with success, so the .338 should be even better.

Just pick a bullet design with a large meplat and you might be very pleased with your results.
