Working on a 45-70 Siamese Mauser conversion. Need to locate a complete bolt stop assembly and see Numrich is sold out. Anyone know of a source for these? Also, anyone aware of an article written on this conversion? Thanks, Dan

Think either Rifle or Handloader magazine did an article about the conversions many years back. You just might try google and see what pops up. Frank

Article referenced above: Rifle Magazine Issue 12, Nov-Dec 1970. Available from Wolfe Publishing on CD for about $10. I did not find it particularly helpful but did receive some pointers on the subject from members here. Mine really only feeds #2 from the magazine reliably enough to afford a reload for a follow up shot even after all that. Good Luck.

I rebarreled one to 7.62X54 and it worked very nice.

If you are converting the mauser to a 45/70, be very careful when you alter the extractor for the 45/70 case. Screw that up and you may not find another one. It took me a year to find a replacement extractor for one that had to much metal removed on a sporterized Siamese mauser 45/70 that I traded for a few years back.
