I have a 43 Nagant that I picked up for next to nothing.
This gun had been pretty severely abused. Someone had TRIED to sporterize it. Truly a Bubba job!
The short story is that I did what I could. Added an ATI stock and a decent scope. It looks more presentable, and is a blast to shoot.
Not fantastic accuracy but passable.
Here is the problem ... After every shot I seem to be getting a ding in the shoulder of every case about a 1/4" long line.
The last time I had it out shooting after about 10 rounds I got a stuck case. Obviously an issue but not sure what might be happening ?
Just wondering if I am overlooking something obvious? What say the experts?

Clint,

Check to see that the ejector is moving freely. Sounds like the action is still crudded up with cosmo. Could also be cosmo in the chamber. Shoot 5 or 10 to warm it up and scrub it out. Clean the chamber with copper wool on a brush.

Good luck.

I had something like that in a type 53, there was a burr in the chamber.

Ding / burr in the chamber was my first thought, too.

Also had a type 53 with a burr in the chamber, most likely I'm my humble.opinion is dirty ;crud, Cosmo. Causing stiff extraction.

The bolt is a bit different now it is more of a spoon handle shape.
