I picked up a Marlin 336 today in 35 Remington. Had it scoped while I was there.

I have a two molds that are appropriate for this rifle, I think. RCBS 357 180gr Silhouette and a Lyman 357 214gr SWC. I am looking for suggestions on other boolits to cast and shoot in this fine rifle.

Plus I am looking for brass.

So for the moment, I am the proud Pappa of a new lever gun.

Jerry - Congrats on a fine rifle. The 35Rem is a great cast boolit cartridge. I've messed around with all the pistol boolits and other designs, but have settled on a NEI 205 gr FN. The best powder for the 35 in my opinion is IMR-3031.

What rifling does your rifle have?

If nobody answers your call for brass in a day or so, send me a PM. I got a baggie of 50 once fired R-P cases stashed that could get you going. Rather have someone with brass they want to sell help you first.

Vly,

This is a new 336, it is 1 in 16 RH. I will have to check out the NEI molds. Thanks, I will let you know about the brass.

Thanks,

Jerry

I bought my NEI mould back when Walt was still alive. I don't know how the company has fared since he has been gone. The RCBS 35-200-FN is very similiar to my boolit and I have heard many favorable reports on the RCBS design over the years.

I would certainly try the moulds you presently own first, then if you still got the itch for something else try the 200 grainers.
