First post here. Love my S&W 500 4". Shot one box of 440gr Corbon Loads and I was hooked. Since then I've only shot my reloads in this gun. I have shot 500 rounds through this revolver and just past the 10k mark last year across all my handguns. I have worked up loads for 350, 375, 390, 440 grain with As well as 500gr and 700gr with h110. The conundrum that I find myself in is such. Having a quantity of Matts bullets 535 grain GC SWC that I want to load with H110. I've exhausted all of my data supplies including the cast pictures reloading reference on this page but I can only come up with loads for 500gr or 600 gr normally I would start low and work up however I am Leary of doing this given the unique nature of h110 and reduced loads. Does anyone know a manual that lists data for this weight or can point me in the right direction I would be grateful

That should give you somewhere to start.

I've seen that data before and it does list a load for 500 gr bullets using h110... In your experience would a difference of 35 grains be too large? Is it safe to use data for a 500 grain bullet?

Starting loads will be safe, then work carefully.

Just got back from the range loaded 535 grain GC SWC at 30 31 and 32 grains of h110 accuracy was only 3 inches at 10 yards Extracted fine and primers looked good

If you can post the length of the bullet and the loaded length, I can run it through Quickload to have a second source to compare what you've found for load info.

this is my first experience with cast boolits is there normally lube left on the mouth of the cases

After shooting, or after loading?
If it's after loading, then try belling the case mouth just slightly more.
There should not be any lube left on the case mouth after fireing.

Lar45 I'm not shaving when seating. it is only after shooting, there is lube/gunk all around the rim of the case mouth

Most good lubes will leave some on brass, my .44 is the worst for that. Even tumbling has a tough time removing it all.
I get a small amount of lube on the brass when I seat so I just wipe the brass, never the boolit.
Everything I do is messy.

Ok, here is what Quickload spit out. I used a 6.5" barrel because that is what give me the most accurate guess for my 4".
This is not load data, just a computer simulation and something to compare with your other load data.

Hope this helps.

So it's saying 32+ grains is over max psi... Should I dial my load back to 30-31 grains?

It looks like 32.3gns will give you a 100% load without being compressed and is still within the pressure specs.
So maybe start at 29 and work up from there?

ammoguide.com has a couple of 500S&W loads with H110. Brian
