View Full Version : Mystery decapping die. Need help!

Hi Fellas, I have what looks like some sort of universal decapping die that has a bushing in it. In this die it has a threaded bushing marked 220. It is threaded on one end and the other end is shown in the picture below. It almost appears it helps align the case mouth in the die to keep the case centered for decapping??? I need the experts input here. Thanks!

Going to put a caliper on that bushing. Maybe a neck sizer bushing??? Let me check.

Its prolly one of those universal die bodies that uses different bits for different calibers.

Not much I can add to what's already been said, I've never seen something like that before. But on the off chance you come across that Baine&Davis die set for $10 send them to me for a very thorough and exhaustive, time consuming evaluation.....:bigsmyl2:

I think that is the Herter's universal neck die. One size fits all case bodies.
Change neck bushings and expanders when you change calibers.

I agree with EDG, I have a Herters die just like that, have never used it.
