Anyone that has a 45 ACP Lee trim die, question, can you insert a loaded round in this die so that only 1/8" of the bullet sticks out the top of the die ??

Thank you

you ask WHY, I have a large stock of "GI Ball" ammo and am wanting to see what effect changing the RN to to a FN will have

"when the weather sucks, there is always the in door range"

If that's the .45 RN bullet with exposed lead base, be careful of making too big a hole in the front of the jacket -- shooting it might squirt the lead out, and leave the jacket in the barrel.

Doesn't sound real safe to me. Not something I would do. Taking weight from the boolit?

If you are referring to the Lee Quick Trim die for 45 ACP, no you can not. Trim dies are for trimming the brass case not the bullet. I would just shoot it and reload with a FN bullet.
