Was Woundering Just How To Remove The Front Sight&barenett From My Mosin Nagant M44 ?do I Use Heat Or Try To Take Them Off Cold ?

On mine there were two pins that need to be driven out first; one vertical at the rear of the mount and one horizontal just behind the front sight. then set the muzzle on a block of wood and drive it off the barrel.

A good penetrating oil wouldn't hurt anything; mine needed lots of persuasion with a two pound hammer.

After using a hacksaw and files to clean it up;,I reinstalled the front sight, it looks okay.
