I am a big fan of .264 bullets. My go to hunting rifle is a 6.5x55, so when a customer came in today and said the shop down the road had a Model 7 CDL in 260 for $525 I locked the door and went to buy it. It was pre owned but unfired in the box. I looked it over and it looks untouched. I figured the guy told me the wrong price, the rifle is $750 wholesale, well he did, the price tag said $425. I damn near tore my pocket off getting the money out.

The 260 Remington is one of the great unsung cartridges of the last 50 years.
Few people see the virtue of this great mid-size round, and that it will fill almost every nitch in North America's hunting shooting scene.

Check the twist rate on your new rifle. IIRC the first .260's had a twist that was too slow to use the extra long bullets that make the 6.5 mm so special. Of course, you won't know for sure until you shoot it with your chosen bullet weight. Good luck!

Remington's site has been down for close to 24 hours so I used the cleaning rod method and got 1 in 9 twice. This rifle was made in 2012.

that price was a steal. I love the sevens especially the cdl. I just picked up a 300saum seven cdl for 500 and thought that was a good deal.

6.5's are my favorite and this 30 cal is my first and only "big bore". its a little out of my comfort zone

Is the 300 a blaster? Seems like it would be in such a short barrel. I have a SS synthetic 7 in 308 that has slayed critters on two continents, I love it.

Don't know. I haven't shot it yet
I don't even have the brass yet. It has a brake on it so it should be decent.
