Have started loading 45 acp for the first time in 25 years. I have tried 3 Lee molds with success with the 160gr rnf and the 252 Lee swc, and no joy with the 250rnf. Any advice tor someone relearning the caliber.
thanks

h&g 68 type this is a semi-wad cutter and the long nose feeds well in the
acp easy to shoot and accurate

Shawn,
You don't say if you're loading for a 1911, wheelgun, or another brand/style of auto-pistol, but no matter what the 45ACP you're loading for, the 230gr Govt. Profile ball bullet will feed the best. I just ran a group buy on it, but Lyman also makes it. They call it the #452374. Theirs is a little light (225grs) and plain-based, whereas mine is speced-out at 230grs and bevel-based. It's hard to beat the bullet most guns are designed around...

I have a H&G mold for the 68 SWC bullet that I would be willing to sell? Contact me off line at bigben1956@verizon.net if interested?

Actually, magazine lips are taylored for bullet nose types, now?

I guess both people who emailed me about the H&G 68 mold thought I would just give it away? I shot you both a price lower than the going price. Maybe I'll put it on some of the auction sites?

The lyman 452460 200+ swc shoots good for me and was supposed to be specifically made to feed in unmodified pistols.

Well, I believe that magazine lips can be "adjusted," but if you want a bullet that works in everything (unless it doesn't work with much), the Govt. Profile Hard-Ball is the one that's best.
