My friend Bryan had seen my cleaning cradle that I use for cleaning my own rifles when I come in from the range.

He asked if we could make him one ? I said..." Certainly ! ! " Today we made him one.

The cradle is padded with soft rubber so that a rifle stock cannot be scuffed . It sits on about a 20 degree down bubble so that if you want to soak a barrel in Hoppes over night, you can put a metal fruit juice can under the muzzle of the rifle and nothing will drip back into the action of the rifle.

Here is the finished product :

Nice job. A table top version would sell like hotcakes and be easy to ship.

Ben I like that. I hope you don't mind if I copy that for my own use. Closing in the area under the cradle might be a good idea as a place to lay cleaning supplies and also as a safety net for small dropped parts. jroc

No patents here on this end of things, make yourself a copy.

Yes, " flooring " the bottom would accomplish what you describe.

I made a rack on the side of mine to hold cleaning rods also.

Show us some pics when you're finished.

That is perfect. So, simple! Muzzle down a bit. I am going to make myself one for two rifles. Brian

Great job! A cradle is one of those things "I need to make" but it never gets done. That looks like it really works slick and I like the idea of the 20 degree angle for soaking the barrel and easy drainage. Thanks for sharing!

I built this one from pine and used billiard table cloth for the protection /
Machined up a brass screw and knob to clamp the but end when the rifle is installed.
some rubber feet underneath to prevent it slipping
