There is a Lee .445 Minie mould in the Site Benefit Auction section (shameless plug:-D).

Can someone tell me what firearm Lee intended that this boolit be loaded in?

I would make a wild guess it would be a paper patched bullet, or a 43 spanish. Only a guess. Ron

Beerd: Since the "standard" .45 ML size is a .440 patched ball, my money would be it's for a .45 Ml.

It is a muzzle loader boolit.
I have the same mould and used to shoot it from a H&R Huntsman rifle.
I also used the same boolit in the .43 Mauser.
