I have a 11.35 X 53 Beaumont Rifle 50-90 Brass trimmed and sized in a CH4D 11.35 X35 die then fire formed to the chamber measure .485 OD at the neck end of the case and a ID of .460. The bore slugs at .454 the rifle just has a big throat.I load the 405 lee as cast at .462.
The original load was a 360g boolit and I would like to try the NOE 454-350 or Lee 460-350.boolit before I buy the mold. or do you have any other suggestions in what to try. I think that any 45/70 light Boolit will work.
If you have a Beaumont rifle what do you use?
I posted this in the Boolit exchange and only got I reply and they only had heavy Boolits for a 45 long Colt.
Thank you
Dan

I have had good results with the Lyman 445599 hollow base paper patched to over bore size with 31g of 4198 and filler.

I use the Lee 452-255-RF. I don't shoot it enough to justfy buying a different mould. I only use smokey powder. It is fun to shoot.

I was using 4198 . . I did not like using filler . I have used them , Paper filler, corn meal, Dacron. The switched to 777 . works great. . Just followed recommendations and go.
very good results

I got a nice Beaumont for free! (Provided that I work a BP load for it. No prob!) He provided all of the dies and .50-90 brass to make the cartridges which I did. I'm working w/ several of the various diameter bullets he provided. I have a number or the .457 Lyman bullets to use. Nice rifle. I'll keep you posted.
