Llama IX-A mags

My friend got a Llama IX-A can he use Colt GI mags or will he have to buy triple k mags?

My IX-A will take standard US GI magazines and actually prefers them to Llama mags.

Checkmate or Metalform are good Colt mags at reasonable prices.

That is true, but in some cases, there is no other game in town. In those cases, I have had problems with the weak steel they use. The lips bend pretty easy. I have had good luck with taking the magazine apart and hardening the lips. Heat them until dull red and quench them in water. Then put the magazine back together. It is better than nothing.

Sadly, this is one of those "it depends" situations. Some Llamas will take a Colt Magazine, others may have issues with them. You won't know until you try. The one I had could use GI mags if the cut out for the mag catch was made a little deeper. Otherwise, it would fall out when shot.
