A friend has one that is 1 in 14", but his is from the late 80's.

My 80s vintage one was the same. I will take a cleaning rod to the shop tomorrow and check it out. 1 in 12" is what I'm expecting.

I'm betting on 1-14.

That is the standard, but with all of the tight twist / heavy bullet spin that everyone seems to have a hardon for lately, nothing will surprise me.

A Swift! Mick; I'll be able to hear it over this side of the ditch!

I have managed to resist so far. My first No1 was a 1B in 220Swift. I loved it and sold it to feed kids.

If you can, check the throat on that barrel. 220 Swift is hot for a reason...

Thanks, bit it is new. I am managing to resist this one as I have an M77 in 220 and two 22/250s, so I really, really don't need this rifle.

I really don't need this rifle.
"Methinks the Lady (gent) doth protest too much."
..... says the feller who just today placed his order for a heavy-barreled Savage .223 to ward off the hordes of attacking ground squirrels (when the heavy-barreled .22-250 gets too hot to hold onto).
