I have the opportunity to buy one reasonably, but don't want it unless I can shoot it. I heard it can be made from 32 smith long brass, but am not sure. Any info would be appreciated.

You heard right. Turn off the rim and cut extractor groove.

You can also make brass from 30 Carbine cases, but it is a lot more work. You have to trim, resize the head, ream and clean up the extractor groove.

I have a 1935a and the S model and brass can be made from 32 long. I also understand a sleeve can be put in the chamber and use 32 acp ammo.

Buffalo arms sells brass. Probably the easiest way to go unless you have a lathe. I bought the ch4d dies, but you can just use 32 S&W long dies. The ch4d sizer is stepped to reduce the neck portion for .308" bullets, and mine needs at least .312 for cast.

It's just another name for the .30 Pedersen round intended for use w/ the Pedersen device that turned the 1903 Springfield into a semi-auto rifle during WWI. It was never fielded, and all but a few of the Pedersen devices were destroyed at Benecia arsenal in the '20s, so there should be a pile of that old ammo moldering away in that warehouse they rolled the Ark into at the end of that movie w/ Harrison Ford 30+ years ago... [Crikey! Has it already been that long ago?]

I know people who actually shoot 32 acp (shudder) in the 32 longs as the 32 acp has a small rim. Not my cup of tea however. I bought a bunch of brass from Buffalo as it was just too time consuming to make on my mini lathe.
