Folks, though I like the 6.8mm round, it would be better with a rim in the Contender. Bellm can do a .270-30 chambering, like the 7-30, but for cast bullets, the SPC case is enough.

The 30-30 case can be sized down to the correct dimensions, though I bet you will have extra length, and possibly a thick neck, to trim.

I've found the 7-30 to be a boffo cast bullet cartridge, but with Unique it runs @ 30% full. Perhaps a short 6.8 based on a necked down and pushed back 30-30 case could be a little fun gun with cast. Case would be proportional to the bullet (IMHO).

A rimmed 6.8SPC II reamer to chase out the chamber.

Any leads on if one exists already?

Yes, I could cut the rim on a lathe separately... This is (still) America... Until I'm shocked by the cost of a reamer, I reserve the right to be obstinate....

Dave Manson will be glad to make you one for about $200. Don't know of anybody doing one off the shelf.
