Trying to reload a missouri coated 168 rnfp bullet.From what I can find the col is 2.220 but at that length the bullet sticks out so much that the bulllllet is only in the case slightly.Any idea what I should make tthe col.

56mm = 2.20472"

I would just seat it at the crimp groove. That is a pretty heavy boolit for this round IMO. I don't have any load data in front of me but that seems like a heavy slug for that round. Loading those slugs in 30-30 would be more fitting.

If you are shooting those I would expect subsonic velocity.

Do it at your own risk! Make sure you are well read on the subject.

Are you trying to load these in 7.62x39?

Bullet is about the same weight as my Lee 160TL. No problem.

pahermit, What are you planning to shoot these from. I'm just afraid that if it's an AK or SKS the boolit fit may be very poor depending on the boolit size and bore size.

The C.O.L. should be no longer than what will feed from your magazine unless you plan to single load them. I know you have the opposite problem. I would first try seating it with the boolit base at the bottom of the case neck.

A boolit similar to this might suit you better...

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=468172760

and the seller will tailor the boolit to your gun by proper sizing and hardness level.

No, I do not have any financial or commercial interest in this.
