What is a Lyman 452488? Apparently it is discontinued.

It is a 195 gr. SWC copy of the H&G #130, a target bullet for the .45 ACP.

I have the mold.Mine is a SAECO.
I shoot mine in a Ruger 45 ACP, 45 Colt convertible revolver.

The more I use this 4 cavity, .45 cal. SAECO # 130 that I had Erik install his " Insert HP system " on , the more I like it.

THANKS ERIK for a great job done on this mold !

It doesn't take long to end up with a pile of perfect HP's . Should you decide that you want some solids, you've still got that option with this mold :

I have an H&G #130 which is essentially the same as the 452488 in 4 cav. It is unmodified and has always worked well for me in 5 autos and revolvers using Bullseye in various loadings. Short, fat and easy to cast using straight WW. LLS

And, it feeds like butter thru a Glock 30!

As short and dumpy as they are, the H&G 130, which looks identical to the 488 feeds
just fine in the several 1911s that I have tried it in.

I have an original H&G #130 four cavity mould. My experience, is it feeds well in some 1911's and not so well in others. My 1911's will feed empty cases (a Harold Johnson smithed custom) so I never had a problem with it. They cast extremely well in that mold, too. Just like shelling corn...

They also shoot quite well in the pistols and revolvers I have used them in. The only complaint I have is that they don't cut a clean hole in a target - if you are competing, that may be problematic for you...or not.

I have a 4 cav Lyman 452488 and it's my primary 45 acp bullet. When properly sized to the gun I have had excellent results.

Edit: forgot to mention, I had to beagle mine. It was casting small when I first got it.

For some reason, the #452488 doesn't feed reliably through all 1911s. I have at least one such gun. However, the SAECO version does fine in every 1911-style gun I've used it in. Both bullet are quite accurate; the SAECO bullet is a little lighter.

I was wanting to get a 452488, but every time I started looking around, I thought about the H&G 130 4 cav that sits in the drawer. Just didn't make sense to throw money at another, near identical mold. My guns do like the 130 a lot though. They feed and shoot real well.
