I need. Some start loads for 100 grain bullet for .380 and 9mm using bullseye. I don't want anything hot. The .380 is a Sig p238. The 9 a waltther p99as. These are for plinking and practise.

Uhhm, when I see a post like yours, the first thing I think is: Get a reloading manual and read it.

Sorry. I am pretty sure my Lyman and Speer manuals list something, but I am not near my manuals right now.

garbear I checked my Lyman 49th addition to answer your question. You did not state if you want jacketed or cast boolit info. At any rate here is what the starting loads listed for both 90 gr boolits (lead) and 95 gr. j word bullets:
90 gr lead-2.4 gr Bullseye
95 gr J words-2.0 gr.
This is for the 380 automatic(380 ACP)
I have found the Lyman reloading handbooks to be very helpful in load development. I recommend you look into one if you don't already own one. I feel certain someone can give you the info you need for the 9mm. I Hope this info helps.

Lyman #49 does not list loads in either cal for 100 gr bullets. Hornady #8 has data for a discontinued FMJ in both 380 and 9mm. The Hodgdon web site has 100 gr data for both calibers. Accurate Powder's online load data has loads for 100 gr plated (Berry's and Ranier) and 102 gr Rem Golden Saber bullets. Alliant Powder does not list loads in either cal for 100 gr bullets. Nosler #6 and Speer #14 don't list loads for that bullet weight either.

Hope this points you in the right direction and helps avoid fruitless rabbit trails.

My Manuel don't have that info. The .380Sig is a gift from my dad. Wife and I was in a bad car accident. She is still recovering and just started physical therapytherapy dad bought dies powder and bullets since a lot of any extra money is tied up to help her. We were hit by a commercial truck at 70mph. He was 100% at fault. I have tried onlin. I came her as last resort not to get ridiculed.

Thanks to the ones that helped me.

100 grn data for 380acp is harder to find, Keep in mind it is on the heavy side as to bullets for the 380 acp thus will be more into the case at OAL using up powder capacuty for the bullet. Pressure will raise fast so start low and work up. I load a 100 grn cast for my sig and have shoot the rem 102 grn load from it ( it isnt bad but is stout) In 9mm 100 is on the lighter side. Data is available in manuals for many powders.

I feel the same way also.

Garbear,

If your looking for a practice and plinking round, I'd recommend making up some test loads in 1/10th grain powder charge increments, starting with a mid-range published load as the hottest load, fire the hottest load and work down. Make note of the way the pistol cycles empties and chambers new cartridges. When the powder charge is too weak to to cycle empty cases, or won't chamber a new round, note that load. Back a the loading bench, add a 1/10th or two of powder to the load that had trouble cycling, and you'll have a plinking round that won't tear up your gun(s). Moreover, all of the spent cases will land in the same place.

The best to your wife during her recovery.

Have you checked Alliant's site?

I found that 2.8-3 grains of bullseye works well in the 380, but if i remember correctly I was using 100gr plated berrys bullets.

Not only buy a manual all the powder and bullet manufactures have info on line.

I use a ton of BE in 9mm, I use a Lee 120TC bullet with 3.8 to 4.0 grs. I would try 3.8gr with your 100 gr for a cheap target load.

...

I wasn't ridiculing you. Sorry if it can across that way. I have lurked a long time before posting and seen too many "Just got my press, how much powder do I put in an xxx round?" messages.

Very glad to hear you have a manual.

Prayers to you and your wife.

For my Bersa .380 I load 2.2 grs of BE with a Lee 102RN. Light but cycle the action just fine and shoot good.

Yep my 9mm likes 3.7 with a 115gr cast RN,and the 380 likes the little 95gr RN cast also pushed with 2.2gr of bullseye. I've not load enough 380 to tell you much but the little Browning sure likes them. Did you get one set of dies for each or do you plan to use the same dies for both?? My 310 tool will do both with the same dies.
