Hi guys. Just came back from the range and I am still grinning. My dad gave me a Model 8 Remington in 32 Remington. Never had ammo and he never shot it. I finally formed some 32 Remington from a batch of 30 rem brass, used 32 Win dies, used 8mm 173 gr Lee cast bullet sized .323, loaded 30 gr WC852 (IMR 4831). Results were 2" group at 100yrd using Lyman peep site. Action was smooth and loaded/ejected great. No leading in bore. 1603 fps. Man what a treat. Still smiling. What a classic. I don't care how nice a new rifle looks, this is a work of art. Love that CHUNK recoil. It has a 330 weaver mod 8. must be 1.5x. Got to load up more and try the scope.:-o

I love mine. It is the easiest of the Model 8/81 to load cast in. I even had Accurate Molds cut me a copy of the 321317 designed for the .32 Rem, http://www.accuratemolds.com/bullet_detail.php?bullet=32-155L-D.png It shoots great using Leverevolution and FTX bullet data.

Nice rifle, there's something about the Model 8. When Texassako brings his to the range I have to take a little time out and just sit & stare. It is indeed a mechanical wonder. Congrats!

I've been keeping a non-rifle loony buddy's M8 .32 Remington fed for a couple years now. They are a fun heavy little rifle. He still chuckles when he remembers my telling him it's like shooting a pogo stick!

My .32Rem's are pretty much my favorites -- I have Model 8 and a Model 14 in that caliber. I have been using a 23148 Modern Bond mould with a 150gr cavity, and am MOST happy to read your mould use. I've been using 3031 in my loads. I will contact Tom at Accurate shortly, thanks to your post :) - and may very well order one! Thanks!!!

A fun(ny?) round in these, especially for a new shooter or kids, is what I call the recoilless rounds. If you don't achieve enough recoil, the action never unlocks and stays between the 2 springs. The heavy bolt and barrel absorb all the recoil, and with the help of those springs it is not transmitted to the rest of the rifle. I use light for caliber bullets and a bit of pistol powder at about 11-1200 fps for those.

tried the scope today, not much better, about 2" at 100yrd. It is cloudy so I am wondering if the scope is bad. Load up another 20 and try it again.

Have a model 81 in 35 Remington----I believe this was the only commercial rifle to be loaded with stripper clips-----go figure---would love to find a police extended magazine form the old days
