I'm trying to lube size my 401-175-TC boolits in my RCBS sizer and a new .401" die. With the handle cranked as hard as I can I'm only getting splashes of SpeedGreen on four spots of the lube groove. I had no problem lubesizing some 429421's just moments before. I've adjusted so the lube squeezes up the nose of the boolit (boolit too deep in the die) and back. I'm thinking it's the very thin lube groove on this boolit that prevents the lube from spreading out.

Any other ideas? Other than tumble lubing, of course.

You might check the die to see if the lube holes are obstructed. The way the lube holes are offset in the die, there should be an adjustment that allows the grooves to fill if they aren't obstructed. Is the lubrisizer in a warm room?

I size the same bullet in my RCBS sizer and have no problems. Its the easiest bullet I cast to size and lube.

I was sizing , gas checking and lubing 44 gr..224 boolits yesterday afternoon, no problems. I went and shot for a while, then decided to work up some more boolits, Couldn't get lube into the grooves. Pulled the die and cleaned the holes, no help. I then realized that the evening had cooled some so I shut the garage door and fired up the blow dryer, problem solved. Probably only 10 or 12 degrees change in temp, but made a difference. 50/50 lube. DALE

It is out in the garage, and maybe half an hour after lubing the .44 boolits. I'll have to wait until it warms up and try again.

C'mon guys, each boolit has to be adjusted for depth in the size die to align the grease grooves so they get lube. Any change in GG position between boolits means an adjustment.
