I believe this has been touched on before, but cannot find it. I now have 2 lee 200 gr. Swc b/b moulds for my 45 acp (springfield loaded). I came across some tite group at a walmart( cheap) and wanted to know what others experience with this powder/ boolit combo is.

I shoot as light of load as possible in mine. My Lee 230 tl takes 3.5 grs to reliably cycle and the Lee 165 rf 3.8 grs. But I'm not trying to break any records just trying to give my 120 lb wife a comfortable plinker, while I shoot my rifles. It's as accurate and more than anything else I've shot in it.

Titegroup works just dandy for me with both the 203 grain Lyman Devastator and MP 200-swc. I used Lyman #49 data, somewhere just above the middle. The only caveat with Titegroup is it get a little spikey with pressure near the top, so watch your OAL and don't push the limits with it in that cartridge.

I should add, i want to start shooting i.d.p.a. So i am not interested in a max anything. Speed/ max velocity dont mean squat if i cannot hit what i need to. I want my 1911 to be free of any feeding issues due to the ammo.

I just make plinking ammo with titegroup, it has worked for me thus far with the lyman 225 grain round nose. I make factory equivalent loads though.

My go to load is 4.0 gr TiteGroup under 200 gr LSWC. It averages 726 fps from my 1911

I have shot many 10K 45 acp loads with Bullseye or Tightgroup powder from over 8 different 45 acp handguns with excellent results.

I have used a bunch of Titegroup in my 45 ACP's with 200 grain H&G 68's for IDPA (and similar) matches. It shoots accurately and dependably from my re-barrelled G21SF and Wilson Combat Classic. Titegroup is really good because it isn't as position or temperature sensitive as some other popular powders. That means you can get dependable velocities when your loads are tested for minimum power factor. Just work out a load that gives you some margin over minimum PF and go for it. FWIW, I found Titegroup a bit "snappy" compared to some of the other powders. I settled in on WST as my preferred powder for this type of shooting but, considering today's powder situation, if all I had was Titegroup, I'd be satisfied.

My top end load using titegroup is 5.5 grains over a Rimrock 200 gr. LSWC. I worked up to it (starting at 5.0 gr.) after reading that Jeff Quinn (Gunblast) uses it and after checking my various reloading manuals.

4.9gr of Titegroup; ~900-950 FPS; works in all 4 of my pistols.

Yes, i did buy it at a local walmart. There are some stores that carry reloading stuff in the sporting goods department.

You guys suck. My walmarts do not have powder or stock it. For that mater they do not stock any reloading items. Oh and I like Titegroup for 45 everything. Only downfall is you can make a double charge so make sure you check your loads and if running a progressive have a powder cop or alarm. Happy shooting.

i have several loads I use with the Lee 200gr SWC. The loads range from 3.2 to 4.0. My current favorite is the 3.2 grs, but that required a 10# spring. It chrono'ed at 625 out of my Sig Sauer 1911 Target 5". Very accurate at 50' and comfortable. Likely not a candidate for 50 yards but I do most of my shooting indoors.

Well i guess i could hack on you guys that live in n.y. And n.j. There are several walmarts out this way that sell reloading stuff.

I just heard a young mother was arrested and jailed because she had a pistol
( legal in her home state of pa.) in her purse while being stopped by n.j.s.p finest. That is a communistic state right there. I sure hope i dont have to drive back to n.y. Ever. I think id hitch a ride in a helicopter and fly around it.

Things are so bad in NJ, it might be illegal to think about buying powder. :dung_hits_fan:

4.5 grns Titegroup under a Dardas 200LSWC-BB, groups well in either my Colt Gov't (Kart NM), or my factory barreled LWT Commander.
WW brass, WWLP primers, Lyman S expander, & a .470" Dillon taper crimp.
