Fun at the gun range today - Full auto machine guns

Had the opportunity to shoot several machine guns today. My favorite was the M1 Thompson .45 cal. beast and a half. The German MP 40 was very controllable. The Russian PPsh @ 900 rpm was a wild cat. Darnalls near Bloomington IL. rent these fine weapons through Sun. Bring money.

Nothing like your first dose of NFA toys - Sad that the only new ones for civilian purchase are just AOW, SBR, SBS, Suppressor and DD. - That's a law that is UN-constitutional but won't be removed for quite a while - heck we are still working on GCA-'68 stuff.

My favorite way to spend a couple of hours and a couple hundred in ammo. I love how smooth some FA's function. Others, not so much. My very favorite is a full auto 10/22. I remember taking my son to a local range back in GA when he was about 9 or 10. We shot an MP5 and a full auto 10/22. He had to carry the 22 back to the counter himself. When he gently laid it up on the counter he told the worker that his daddy would pay for that gun right then if he could take it home with him...:) To say he liked shooting that thing is an understatement. I loaded mags for it till my fingers were raw.
