I found out today, that the deflecter shield that is available for the Lee Loadmaster, is a valuable assessory. I just recieved mine in the mail and attached it to my press. I was loading up some .38Spl using CCI primers and BANG!!!!. I don't know why but one went off and set off the trough full of primers. Blew the plastic trough and primer tray all to pieces. That shield saved me from getting hit with flyen shrapnel. I tell ya, I'm gona be a bit gunshy to load more rounds. My poor Beagle jumped a foot and hit the ground runnin. I dought if he'll watch me load any more.:bigsmyl2:

I'd be calling Lee and telling them I wanted some new parts for my press sent asap and with yessir and a smile to go with it. Poor pup, I'm totally sympathetic with him and yourself. Glad you're not hurt. That was cheap insurance.

Better tell Lee to add in a new pair of shorts too! Only primer detonation I have had is on my shotgun press, full tube of 25 on my DL-366 went off, still have bits stuck in the drywall ceiling.

Shield is dirt cheap and install's w/screw driver.

I would get magic mike primer system mod so it want happen again. That's affordable too. It Retrac's the primer if not used.
