1902 Win high wall 32-40 Questions?

I have a 1902 win High wall in 32-40. The barrel is shot out (12 inch groups at 50 yds.) I am trying to decide which way to go with this. I would like to make it a 38-55 by either relining it or replacing it with another barrel. The barrel is 30 inches long and is octagon. The wood is in poor shape and will be replaced. The action seems tight. Any thoughts on this. Thanks, Bill

I have a high wall that was a rusted .32-40 it is a number 3 weight. bored it out to .38-55 never looked back.

I would have it re-bored to 35Win. or 35 Krag.

Send it to Jes at http://www.35caliber.com/ along with $225 and have it bored and chambered to 38-55. A fantastic, accurate cartridge that held benchrest records for years. And a GREAT deer cartridge to boot! You'll have it back in about two weeks and it will shoot like a house afire!
