I like the Russian Nagant revolver. I also just acquired a Savage Model 32-20 model 23 rifle. In order to make a revolver to match the rifle I have thought of getting a reamer and cutting the Nagant chambers to 32-20. Your thoughts?

The Nagant doesn't have chamber mouths, it is just one diameter from rear to front. If you stick a standard ctg in there the boolit will have no support from mouth of ctg until it hits the rear of the barrel (sideways?).

Not to mention, you may need to rebate the the face of the cylinder, as the rims on 32-20 are usually to thick.

The Nagant is a long taper. It blows out the shoulder on the 32-20. Thus it would not chamber in your rifle after being fired in your revolver.
In my findings it is not rim thickness. It is the diameter of the rim that is just a bit big. Not on all brass though. Have some WW that works fine. One batch of starline worked then had another that was a bit big.

Doubt a 32-20 cutter would do a whole lot of cutting in a Nagant chamber. Its really only a bit of the shoulder in the way of factory 32-20 chambering. As said once fired in the nagant wouldn't be much use in your other gun. My nagant blows the shouldered 32-20 case straight, brass wouldn't last long being worked like that. I have knocked the shoulder back on 32-20 ammo, in a sizing die, to chamber in my nagant.

Now if you could manage to find one of those 32ACP cylinders could cut that one to 32-20. Tho I have found factory 32-20 ammo OAL to much for a nagant cylinder, so probably still couldn't interchange between the rifle and the pistol.
