Found a picture of a Forester 8MM field gauge. Looks like 1.8843". I have a Mauser that will close on a No-Go gauge. I placed a 0.005" piece of tape over the end and I have plenty of bolt left before it closes. Looks like I am measuring between No-Go and Field gauge. Should be OK.
It should be OK with moderate loads.
But ? Do you reload ?
If so, then just neck size and you will be fine.
But it might be a good idea to check the bolt lug surface engagement.
Make sure Both front lugs are hitting and hitting evenly.
Just because it stops on a no-go or field, does not mean everything is up to snuff or square, especially if it is not the original bolt, or the receiver has any set back.
