I have been a little lax in knowing the composition of the lead that I have been using to cast bullets for "Buffalo" shoots. I am getting more active and recently purchased #60 of pure sheet lead and want to get a good mix and make it into consistant ingots. I am casting bullets of about 405 gr. in .40 & .45 for my .40/65 & .45/70. Shooting in local clubs is usually restricted to 200 yds. and I believe I would prefer my bullets be on the soft side. Wheel weights are hard to find and unpredictable in my area. What should I add into my lead and what ratio?
