I'm not sure if any one makes them now Green Mountain used to) but You could get all of the parts from Track of the Wolfe or Dixie and make one.

Or check evil bay, Gun broker. Should still be several around. http://www.trackofthewolf.com/List/Item.aspx/667/1 http://www.trackofthewolf.com/List/Item.aspx/646/1 http://www.dixiegunworks.com/default.php?cPath=22_128_509_516&osCsid=nva86js857ghgv598ad40f4qi2

T/C also made a 12 gauge shotgun barrel for them.

You see them from time to time on Ebay. Ebay won't allow sales of complete guns so sellers take off the barrel and sell the stock and lock seperate from the barrels. Also, a lot harder to find, but TC made the Black Mountain Magnum. It was basically a New Englander but with a faster twist barrel for sabot's and advertised to take up to a 150gr powder charge. The .50 New Englander is 1/48 and the BMM is 1/28. The barrels interchange between stocks, but I believe the BMM had a through bolt from the tang to the trigger guard for more strength. The New Englander has wood screws only. So if you do put the BMM in your New Englander stock don't get carried away tipping the powder horn.

The early NE had wood screws only on the tang. The later ones have the threw bolt down to the trigger. I have both.

That one is a later one that has the false muzzle and is drilled for the factory scope mount.

Is that screw in the breach plug for a scope mount?

yes. T/C made a long scope mount that used that hole in top of the breechplug and the rear sight holes.
