Hello everyone,
Am trying to decide on what type of scope to put on my CVA Wolf in line.
Have read where some are using 4 power shotgun scopes, due to the heavy recoil of some muzzleloaders.
Does anyone have a shotgun scope on their in muzzle loaders and how does it perform?
I haven't had any luck with some variable powered scopes.
Thanks,
Vearl

I have never tried it because I don't scope my ML guns but have always told people when they ask about how they kick, that they are similar to a shotgun kick.

I have a low power Bushnell (2.5ish 4.5)on my .50 cal TC for years. Very accurate with no issues regarding recoil. Have the same one on my 12 ga a d no issues. I recently put the scope from TC on my 375 H&H bolt rifle. I don't think the recoil will bother it, haven't fired it yet. It's an older $50 scope so I won't feel bad if it gets messed up.

Most of mine have a leupold ultimate slam, but I have since decided I dont like the big center circle and like a slim crosshairs much better, so my last few have been VX2 or 3. right now Leupold rifleman scopes are on sale at sportsmans guide for like $170 cant hardly beat that for a leupold 3-9

I use a Leupold 2.5X fixed heavy duplex shotgun scope on my 54 TC Scout and a Leupold 1.5-4 Shotgun wit heavy duplex on my 50 cal Omega. Both scopes perform great.

I have/have had, Burris, Nikon, Weaver, and Leupold on my hunting ML rifles, some with substantial kick, ie a .54 caliber fast twist shooting a 450gr. great plains type slug, with 110grs of 2ffg, never a problem with todays quality optics. Us a good base and rings, steel preferably, and locktite with blue threadlocker. I have a inline the wife hunts with, has a Nikon Pro sport, 3x9x40, has been zeroed and stayed that way for nine years, in and out of trucks, on 4 wheelers, not babied at all, still zeroed every year.

Stradia lines calibrated for muzzle loaders, 5" of eye relief, lifetime warranty, and a price you can't believe. I have two of them and they are the best scopes I've ever seen for the money. Clarity to rival my Leupold VX3 2.5-8. They just lowered the price again and I may get another myself.
The ad says 3" of eye relief. That's a misprint. They make the same scope with a 600 reticle and a 250 reticle. The difference is the distance in the stadia lines in the reticle. The 250 is calibrated for muzzle loaders. I have one of these on a 45-70 and it works very well on there with those lines also. The 600 reticle is for flat shooting center fire rifles. This is one great deal at this price.
