Hey Folks,
Posted this in another forum and thought I'd post it here as well. Anyone else routinely practice with and swap out grips for different seasons? I just hit the 1000 round mark with my Bulldog firing a good number of rounds while wearing each grip. When bumming around in a tank top and shorts during the summer months I carry my Bulldog well concealed wearing the skinny grips with zero printing. When the weather cools in the fall/winter and sweaters/jackets come into play, the Pachymar compacts go on. The soft factory grips are nice when testing out lots of small batches of handloads in a single sitting. That said, I do my bi-weekly practice (the key word) with the grips I have on the gun at any given time, skinny in warm months and Pachymar in cool months.

For me, it provides flexibility and choices for CC without having to pop for another carry gun to fill a niche.

I like the factory grips for extended sessions at the range testing new batches of handloads and/or of hot handloads:

Pachymar Compacts for covered conceal:

Old Style Bulldog grips ...just cause I love the look! They conceal pretty well too.

And "Skinny" grips that disappear with an IWB when wearing T-Shirt and shorts, or in a coat pocket.

Nice idea. However, I just prefer to dress around the gun instead of changing potential grip placement/hand holds on a firearm. JMO

Actually a pretty good idea for the guy that has only one gun. I suspect your point of impact would change some with each type of grip, so you'd want to check that out.

I don't change grips but do magazines. I carry a M&P Shield and the 7rd (40) mag is extended, I use it most of the time but if I have to conceal under a t-shirt I will carry the short mag. The difference is between a three finger grip and a full grip. It is a compromise like all carry guns. The longer magazine makes the gun "print".
