Retired plumber friend who learned of my interest in starting casting has contributed a couple odds and ends. It's not much, but it's a start along path toward starter smelting setup.
Keeping my eye peeled for dutch ovens and muffin tins. My wife's tins are approaching 25 yr in service and looking rusty -- I may have to upgrade the kitchen set and claim the old ones for myself...

Looks about like what I started with, just add a Coleman stove. I've moved on to a bigger set up, but I did alot on the Coleman with just a couple pots.

With that ladle you're way ahead of where I started! :) I wish I had found one of those very early on.
Have a good one,
Dave
PS - It gets much worse once you start enjoying it . ..there's all kinds of moulds to buy . .then you need sizer dies . .etc etc.

Yes, as I feared. The reloading bug continues metastasizing. I was in remission with a single stage press since '76.
Then the infection resurfaced in 2007 and got really ugly when the LNL-AP arrived. Now the beast fairly cries out to be fed. It wants to consume all the available lead for miles around.
Feed me Seymour!
