Gang
I just got a shipment of 3k Gator 458 rifle checks which are intended for an RCBS 45-405-FN and the Ranch Dog 460-425-FP boolits. The RD check shank is a snug fit in the standard Gator 45 caliber checks. As I understand it, the 458 rifle checks are a little thicker, affording a bit better bite on the shank.
Question is, will I need to anneal these checks before seating on the RD boolit? Or is the check mouth the same as the standard with just a bit thicker metal in the check itself?
Just trying to get some info beforehand so as to not mess up boolits or checks.
Thanks.
