I'm going to start to cut down on all my guns & get to a somewhat manageable number.

I have quite few 22s with a number of duplicates. So before I go to the effort of the Gun Auctions thought I'd run it by you .22 guys here.

I will have a number of the common Marlin, Savage, Wins, but also CMP M12, Rem 40x, Anschutz. Can't remember exact models & will need to dig in safes to see what to keep & what to sell.

All my stuff is NIB, exc etc, even the common stuff. So, is there interest in this stuff? I tend to sell hi end items at fair prices for both parties but not cheap.
Thanks for any input.
Tom

Just thought I'd ask cause I see guys selling guns in S&S all the time. Since this is .22 section, .22 guys should have opinions. Guess not with only 2. No biggy. I sell on auctions sites frequently.

Do the footwork, list them on gunbroker, link it here. Best of both worlds.

LOTS of pictures, good write up, describing history of the gun, condition, etc.
Take the time to do it right and it will bring more offers.

I look on gunbroker all the time and nothing sends me running faster than a short cut n paste description with a single picture.

Best of luck to you!

A friend of mine currently deployed overseas with the Army is looking for two classic American walnut and steel .22 boltguns for his kids.

I notice that you are in Virginia. Cliff Sophia at CS Arms in Upperville, VA is an honest broker I have done business with and he is a regular at the Virginia gun shows. http://www.csarms.com/ He specializes mostly in antiques and militaria, but also handles classic American sporting arms which he acquires from estates and collections. He can probably advise you if you don't have a local dealer you trust who is closer to you.

If you could post a list and photos, I don't think you would have any trouble selling them at fair prices. If there is anything my friend is interested in, once a price is agreed, those items could be paid for and shipped through Cliff's shop FFL to my friend in MO for transfer by his local dealer. That's the right way to do it.

I'll try to go thru the safes to see exactly what I want to sell.

Guess some of you guys got the wrong idea. I have been selling guns at shows for 40yrs & on the auction sites & GA for many years up to hi $ double rifles etc.

As I said wanted to give U .22 guys first shot if there was any interest & save fees so both could save $.

There will be lots of interest in what you have. To me the best way is to list them on Gunbroker with a $1 minimum bill and no reserve. They will not sell cheap there.

Hi, try to answer questions. Have been busy so havn't had a chance to dig any out yet. Will try to get to it soon.

No mags or left handed rifles.

Sorry but this was started to see if there was interest. I was in no hurry to sell anything but just want to start getting rid of stuff to get down to 1 or 2 safes. Pushing 70 don't need all this stuff I don't even shoot.

Thanks

.22 rifles ? Heck yes !!
Me and my friends like to put our $$ into youth model trainers,
Huge return on investment when we Donate them to youth shooting sports programs,
and volunteer our time to get certified and train new shooters in safety and rifle marksmanship.
I'm sure most all of you find passing it on to be the most rewarding part of the shooting sports.

Ok guys. I'll get my butt moving & see what I want to sell. Have no youth guys, just regular full size guns. Don't even know if I still have levers. Just remember bolts & autos.

Give me a day or 2& I'll post & let u know what I have to sell before listing them.
Thanks

Will you be willing to pack and ship to buyers FFL? There's always a strong market for older/out of production guns of all types. Just hope this is not a price fishing exercise.

I would be interested in one of the CMP rifles since my club sponsors youth .22 shooters and have a youth rifle team.

Heh, you apparently didn't read my posts. As I said, I've been selling guns for decades & own, buy & sell guns over 10K. This is more a pain in the az to me than anything. If I list any guns here, it is for the members to have an opportunity to get something they may be interested in without going to a show & for me not to mess with this stuff at a show or pay fees on auction sites. I don't need the money just the space.

I'd even trade for stuff I want.

As I said, I won't be selling at "cheap" prices, just fair price which is discounted to reflect no fees. Altho, I will need to check to see what these are worth since I don't deal in this stuff. Most were just throw ins on multi gun deals to get something I wanted.

These must go to FFL if shipped. Hope this answers questions

Ok, I started to dig some stuff out. I looked in 3 safes & found these. Don't know what I have left. Didn't find near as many as I thought, may very well have sold some. I have not even started to research prices or really inspected them. Descriptions are preliminary.

H&R Model 12, CMP NIB w/papers. Prone/BR with Palma sights & scope bases (need to find box)

Win M77 - mint

Anschutz 1451- target sporter, mint

Springfield 87, semi auto, light speckling

Marlin M81 Centennial w/medallion In stock - mint

BSA Century match w/offhand hand stop, palma sites, VG lite speckling, couple safe dings

Marlin M990 Ducks Unlimited, medallion - minty

Remington 541X Target, palma site NIB, CMP w/papers

Win M63 NIB (new model)

I know that these will most likely be for sale plus what ever else I find down the road. The ones I shoot & am keeping are in another safe.

I will need to research prices etc & check them good for condition. Don't expect me to do it quick as these aren't a priority.

I will be interested in trades, up or down for the right stuff. Off the top I can think of:

S&Ws
M19/66(357) 2 - 4", M17/34(22) or the new ones (?) 4" maybe others??

Remington 700 actions

Remington 700 .308 or 300WSM

Ruger American .308 22"

Savage .308 or 300WSM

Marlin .44Mag

Also brass, new or 1x. 454 Casull, .500S&W, LCMatch 30-06 large lots of the same year

Bullets - various Berger & Sierra match & hunting

Just did some shooting & shot the BSA w/Palma sites. 10 in a dime at 35yds. With my olllddd eyes, it was impressive. Used CCI Target, Federal Lightning & Remington. It shot 1 hole 5 shot groups with the CCI & Federal with the Rem not as good but not bad. Took the CCI as it was the smallest 5 rd group & shot the 10. I'm impressed. To bad it's a single shot Match gun.

Also shot the Springfield M87 auto. It shot OK with the open sites but with my trouble focusing it was more like 1".

Shot 2 10-22s that were NIB. 1 with a good Leupold 3-9 the other with a *** Bushnell 4x that was fuzzy. The Leu one had a horrible trigger, must have been 10-12lbs. The others trigger was better but the scope sucked. Both shot 1 hole groups no matter which ammo & how many. I probably put 20 CCIs out of 1 with none out. Very impressed. Had one back in the early70s that shot OK but not as good as these.

My question is, are there any good trigger fixes or new triggers that will fix the 10-22s. As good as they shot figure I'll keep them.

I'll check the the Win 77 to see if its mag or tube.

The M63 is the 1yr series made in 97.

If I remember correctly the Anschutz shoots good also.

I'll get pics when I can get it figured out.

The M63 is the 1yr series made in 97.

Plain blued I hope? As I recall, they went on a pretty serious engraved/inlayed kick with a lot of those.

On the Anschutz, is that a skinny-barrel walkin' around rifle, or a fat barrel X-ring decimator? The word "sporter" seems to mean different things to the Germans than it does to 'muricans.

tygar
03-16-2015, 11:11 AM
Checked the Win77 & it is a magazine.

The Anschutz is a sporter. The barrel looks to be slightly larger than the Win77s, but definitely a sporter.

The M63 is Grade 1 which is a nicely blued. The Hi grade was the gold inlay & engraved.

Thanks for the "trigger" info.

That's interesting. The price isn't bad compared to a Volquartsen trigger group. I've heard good things about the Kidd parts too. I have a couple 10/22's that I'd like to clean the triggers up on. I did it to a couple others, and now I want it on all of them.
