Do any of you guys shoot one? I have looked for years at gunshows but I have never even saw one.Bout 25 years ago i had a marlin 375 winchester but like An idiot i got rid of it. I see lots of 30-30's and 45-70's but never 356 or even 35 remingtons.

Hoss , I have a pair of Marlin 336ER's in 356 WIN [smilie=1:

One's for cast bullets and the others for jacketed bullets .

And I have done the same with a pair of Marlin's in 375 WIN :drinks:

I bought mine cheap 10 yrs. ago when nobody wanted one. Love it and its a great gun except for the modern saftey. I thought I'd get a 94AE fro a shooter. My Dad left me a new in the Box 1894-1994 Iset it up to put rings and such on it never did) and then Winchester dropped the line. Now a newish one is over 500+ on up. Marlins are still more affordable ,but most have micro barrels. I've yet to shoot my 1894cMarlin with micro in 38/357. Soon I'll run some lead semiwad 38's thru and let you know.:coffee::coffee:afish4570

Newsflash , any decent Marlin 336ER now will bring $800 plus [smilie=1:

And don't be afraid to shoot cast in a micro barrel , they do quite well :drinks:

Like 6pt, I have two of each also. I can't picture my life without them. I will tell you this. I have a 308 ME and feel it on par with either the 356 or 375 Win. Sure all three are different calibers with differences in performance but they are big game rifles!

I killed a desert mule deer with my 336ER a couple of years ago and it makes a great rifle to pack in the desert! A lot of punch at reasonable range (shot was 225-yards). I picked up the second last year out of the ShotGun News. A guy up in East Texas put one up for sale at a reasonable price ($800) and I bought it. I suspect that I would buy any I see for less than $900 bucks or so.
