Looks kinda like this one: http://www.midwayusa.com/product/335330/frankford-arsenal-ss-99-single-stage-reloading-press

May have changed the pins over the years, but I bet Frankford made some with Midway USA tags on them.

too many things

frankford made many things for midway. a catcher wont do much good. bet they never made one. any that deprime through the ram wont catch most and would be in way if you could make one

ICH , you are correct !! Never thought `bout the Frankford Arsenal brand !!!

By the way I agree with all the reviews , mine was new , never used , the handle was zip tied down & no marks on the ram or die place.

Now I see how the primers go I can contact FA or fashion 1, they jump out of a sardine can !!!

Thanks ICH !

I do a lot of research on old presses. I find that I get my best results using Google images. I type in the description of the press and see if I can get any "web" results. If I can't find it there, I click on "images" and look through the hundreds of images to see if I can find a match. In this case I did a search for " aluminum single stage reloading press" and the first image that popped up looked purty darn close to what you have. If you click on the image you can then visit the webpage it is from. In this case, it is from Midway USA. Neat press by the way!

Try cutting out the side of that cottage cheese container on the bench and fitting it to the press and tape it in place for the session with blue painters tape. The other suggestion I would make, do the de-priming on another press that does have a spent primer catcher.Robert

In the last pic there`s a plastic screw in the pin that holds the catcher.

I`ll find summtin to cobble up a catcher that works.

Found a 22magnum box that`ll fit . Slide it up to the ram trim to the rite height, fabricate a piece to hang down to the screw to hold it in place .

This press is really stout for an alloy framed, I set up my dial indicator & full length sized some milsurp 30-06.
O flex until the ram hit then got only .0005" movement on the dial.

Tite & smooth

Midway made those for about ten years. They dropped them a year or so back. Sales must have been low as they do not turn up on the used market.
Frankford is a trade name used by Midway, not a stand alone company. Battenfield is another. All were created by Larry Potterfield's oversize ego about 15 years ago when he decided that he was going to be a competitor to Brownells. That decision ended up costing him a lot of money.

Have you given Midway a call? Shoot an email to Larry?

I cannot see threads in the die hole in the pics, does it use a bushing or am I just not seeing threads?

I would buy a Lee Classic Cast single stage over that press. The design of that press is dated and it doesn't over any advantages except low cost. For it's price, pick up a good used brand name machine or get the Lee. The Lee offers excellent design, ergonomics, primer disposal and you can add a LnL bushing set to it for quick change dies as well as load .50 BMG on the Lee.

Silicon adhesive a strip of steel onto it, then use one of the Redding magnetic boxes. Looks like it would work on that one.

Ken

I wish my bad decisions end up with me selling them for $130.5 million dollars.

A publicly traded firearm manufacturing and design company announced its pending purchase of Columbia-based Battenfeld Technologies.
Smith & Wesson, headquartered in Springfield, Mass., has signed an agreement to purchase Battenfeld for $130.5 million. Smith & Wesson expects the sale to become final this month, according to a news release.

Does anybody know how much Larry Potterfield invested in Battenfeld Technologies? He may just be breaking even or even losing money at that price.

Yep, exactly. Even at that amount of money he still may have lost his behind.

I wouldn't sell a company if it was a good money maker.

I wouldn't sell a company if it was a good money maker.

Other way to look at it is that S&W stock holders wouldn't be too happy if they bought a "looser".

Guess the $130.5 million doesn't matter anyway, after reading the artical, Larry sold out his ownership back in 2012. Clearview Capitol was the one that sold it to S&W.

That explains a lot of why Midwayusa doesn't treat customers as good as they used to and where the free shipping went.

That press looks like a knock off of the Hornady LnL single stage. Both are made out of aluminum and laid out very similarly. Seems to lack the LnL feature and the primer feed. Mechanism laid out similar to an RCBS single stage. So sort of a combination of the two from a design standpoint. Not a bad price, but I wonder where it was made. A lot of the MidwayUSA "offshoot" companies have gone offshore (china) for several products, including their tumbler if I remember right.
