Is the RCBS 08-170-FN a good choice for the 8mm mauser or are there better choices. It looks like it would make a good hunting bullet with it's flat nose.

Very accuratev in two 8 X 57 rifles. Don't know about hunting as I use the other kind.

I'd vote for the RCBS 08-170 FN and the Saeco 081-190 RN if I could choose two...

Rimfire: 7s&8s and NvC. have got it nailed in the off the shelf mould arena. Otherwise you can engage one of made to order ,or full custom makers..NEI's #90,92 ,& 93. could well be excellent alternatives. Have fun, however it goes..:-D Onceabull

I am trying to find an accurate load in my (8mm x 57) Yugo M48, with that bullet, sized to .324", right now. So far, no good luck. It has been suggested to me (many times), that I need these bullets sized to .325", no less. I do not cast my own bullets, I must buy them. So far, I've found no source for .325" ones.

I would be keenly interested in your results and experiences with this bullet (in the 8 x 57 cartridge)....please post when you have data.

Thanks.
