How do you size up a 22rf case for a 6mm case, is it done before the seating die?

info appreciated

Here is how I do it, other's may vary. I use the 22 cal brass jacket and made my own belling tool that opens the mouth of the case a little to accept a little bigger core and the seating punch for the 6mm/243 die set. Then I seat the core in the 243 die This performs both functions, it swages the jacket out to 243 and seats the core. I have only made a few test bullets this way but it seems to work just fine and was based on reading the books by Dave Corbin. I use the 22 long rifle brass that I have. I had thrown away all of the 22 mag empties that I had collected, believing that I would never use them then ended up with the 243 dies. Duohh

Thanks MightyThor ,
