Ok, Can a .22 case be swaged into anything bigger than a .224 boolit?

Or should I just melt all these cases down(don't have many, really about 3 gal) and cast something nice?

They can be used to make 6mm/.243 jackets also. I have not done eother but have read about 22 ans 6mm.

We make 6mm/243 bullets using two jackets, and very light ones using one jacket. (about 65gn)

I have heard that you can make stuff up to 25 cal with the 22 RF but I am sure that any thing that size would be large lead tipped and may have a fair amount of jackets that fail to stretch. Haven't tried it so I am only guessing at this point. Interesting idea, may have to experiment some tonight.

My understanding is that 22 Mag brass can easily be made into either 6mm or .25 cal jackets/bullets, but I have no first hand knowledge.

Ok, so up to 6mm. Well if I COULD buy an FN FiveSeven in Taxichusetts, maybe I'd have something to play with.

Looks like it's Brass Casting for me!

Um, just wondering, is that a personal limitation or is there a shortage of varmints in your area. Many Many choices for stuff that size. 243 Win, 243 weatherby, 6mm Remington, then a ton of 25 cal stuff like 257 roberts, 257 weatherby, 250 savage, 25-06, just to name a few. If you go with Bullshops two part bullet (damn neat idea) I think the 25 cal stuff is very do-able If you don't like any of those, why not make your own wildcat. Neck something up or down and have an action barreled up to your new creation, 6mm Salmon or the 250 Salmon!

Thor! Excellent idea, but yes, it is personal limitation.

Not much to shoot at around here other than paper. As for wildcatting, I might leave that for my retirement - I've got FAR too many other projects I've been ignoring.

Although.... Necking a .44Mag cartridge down to 6mm sounds like a good tecnical excercise!! Just kidding..
