A friend is having a Benchmark 3 groove barrel in 221 Fireball pit on a Remington 722 action.
We have been using Pac Nor barrels but have found them very expensive and having a long wait period.
Do any of you have experience with these barrels?
How is the quality?...dale

No experience with that company but Pac-nor is worth the wait and money.

Really good barrels cost money and require a wait. It is worth it on both accounts.

Benchmark is one of the best out there. They are just not that well known yet.

There are lots of barrels out there that every bit as good as Pac Nor, ... But, most of them are expensive, too, and you'd just have to contact them to see about wait time. Lilja is one of my favorites, but there is nothing wrong with a Krieger, Broughton, or a top of the line Shilen, either, among others.

There are quite a few great barrel makers out there and to me one of the least thought of first is Douglas. I've had hunting guns and match guns using a ton of different barrel makers and the simple truth is Douglas will shoot with the best of them.

X-2 Douglas makes a very good barrel.

I have been very happy with Hart barrels.

Add Obermeyer & Satern to that list. First rate quality.
