Hi Guys,

One of the members Roger Johnson, is helping me. He told me to come to this section to see if someone could cast me some 240 to 250 grain bullets in .451 or .452. It is so I can shoot paper patched bullets from my TC Hawken. Is there anyone that can help? I think I am under the right section.

Thanks
Jon

You might have luck here, give it a couple of days and if you don't get any nibbles try here.

It's a sub section in the Swappin & Sellin section of this site...

he is going to run them through a .440 push through reduceing die. they shouldnt be harder than 30 to 1 lead. they will be patched with either 2 wraps of number nine onion skin paper or one wrap of 18 pound freezer wrap paper. a wad will be used between powder and bullet. these 200 to 255 grain resized bullets to .440 really shoot dead on and powerfull paperpatched out of a 1/48 twist .45 cal thompson muzzle loader. when i had one it kept a 1 inch group at 100 yards every time. was pushed to about 1500 ft. per sec. that will drop a deer anytime. thanks helping this new member out. im sure he will hang around here often now.

If I had what he was seeking I'd give it to him, you have never hesitated to help out and your guidance on my Lee REAL quest was invaluable.

Yep, Roger is the man. I got the new guy covered with some stuff. But I'm sure he could use help from all of us.

What is his finished diameter supposed to be after patching? .451"?

I have converted 2 Colt's and don't regret either decision. First one was back in the early '80's and got a .44 Special the only way you could get a .44 Special, by converting it. Bought the Colt .44 Special barrel and cylinder new. The guys at work cajoled me for spending the outlandish price $575.00 for a pistol but I was single with no kids and didn't mind eating beans out of cans for a month to buy it.

The next conversion was a .357 I bought at a gunshow because the seller desperately needed cash. I had the hammer color case hardened which ruined the firing pin rivet. After getting clicks instead of bangs a couple of times I had to send the gun into Colt for a new hammer. While there they re calibrated it for me.

All my guns are 3rd Generations so I'm not ruining history or any collector's value on anything.

If I had a .32-20 I'd probably end up re calibrating it too after a while.
