View Full Version : Has anyone used the one-step swage die?

It appears that the point form is the external punch. The die is for a reloading press and forms the cylindrical part of the bullet. Also in that external punch it bleeds off excess lead. It forms a jacketed soft point but what I'm wondering is if the jacket is part of the ogive or if it's more like a SWC where the jacket is purely the cylindrical part of the bullet and the ogive is pure lead. Hoping it's not that. I hate the idea of jacket plowing into rifling headlong.

Which die? Mine? or other? Mine will form the jacket all the way to the nose to make a perfect JHP bullet. Sounds like you must be describing a different die?
