I finished annealing my first batch of gas checks.
I wrapped them in tissue paper, put them in a 3/4" pipe with caps, put it on the stove and turned the flame on for 15 -- 20 minutes. Some smoke came through the cap threads. Opened it up and emptied it out, so 2 questions arise.
1-- The tissue paper looked like charred lined. Is this correct or should it have been totally consumed?
2-- When I anneal cases, the neck turns blue. The gas checks dulled in color a little, but were not blue. Are they annealed?
